Industrial Epoxy Flooring Benefits

Low maintenance
Non‑porous surface keeps dirt and liquids on top, making cleaning simple. Spills can be wiped up easily, and regular sweeping or mopping keeps the floor looking new.

Exceptional durability
High surface hardness and resistance to impact, abrasion and heavy traffic - built to withstand forklifts, carts and dropped tools without chipping or peeling.

Slip resistance
Micro‑rough surface which increase friction, reducing slip‑and‑fall accidents. This is vital for wet areas like restrooms, kitchens and processing facilities.

Customisable appearance
Available in multiple colours and different gloss levels. This allows you to create an attractive floor that complements your facility’s design.

Chemical and stain resistance
Epoxy quartz systems resist oils, acids, solvents and other chemicals, while the thick coating and topcoat prevent stains from penetrating

High build thickness
Our double broadcast system provides a thicker coating than typical epoxy floors, adding extra protection and longevity.
Stout Flooring Applications
Manufacturing facilities and warehouses
High‑build coatings that withstand heavy machinery, forklifts and constant traffic.
Medical and educational facilities
Hygienic, slip‑resistant floors with custom colour options to match branding.
Automotive service bays and garages

Public restrooms and locker rooms
Moisture‑resistant floors that provide traction and are easy to maintain.
Commercial kitchens and food processing areas
Non‑slip surfaces that meet health regulations and resist fats, oils and cleaning chemicals.
Silica / “Stout” Flooring System
Our Stout flooring system, also referred to as silica or quartz broadcast flooring, is a high‑build double broadcast system designed to handle demanding industrial settings. We apply a thick epoxy base coat, broadcast silica quartz aggregate while it’s still wet, then seal it with a pigmented top coat.
The embedded quartz particles produce a textured, slip‑resistant surface that significantly improves traction – critical for shops, commercial kitchens, locker rooms and manufacturing plants where moisture and spills are common. The sand becomes part of the coating, increasing hardness and resistance to impact, abrasion and heavy loads.
We have installed quartz broadcast systems across Atlantic Canada and understand how to tailor each floor to the unique requirements of our clients.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a silica or stout epoxy floor?
It’s a high‑build epoxy floor where silica or quartz sand is broadcast into the wet base coat and sealed with a topcoat. The sand becomes part of the coating, creating a textured, non‑slip surface.
Why choose a quartz broadcast system for industrial environments?
Quartz broadcast floors offer superior slip resistance, durability and chemical resistance. They also resist stains and are easy to clean.
How do I maintain an industrial epoxy floor?
Regular sweeping and mopping keep the floor clean. Because the surface is non‑porous, spills remain on top and can be wiped away. Periodic inspection and re‑top coating may be required to maintain slip resistance in high‑traffic areas.
Can silica/stout floors be customised?
Yes. Quartz comes in various colours and sizes, and we can adjust the broadcast density, grit size and topcoat sheen to achieve the desired look and performance.
Are silica/stout floors suitable for wet areas?
Absolutely. The textured surface provides traction even when wet, making these floors ideal for kitchens, restrooms, locker rooms and processing areas.
