Frequently Asked Questions
What is a silica or stout epoxy floor?
It’s a high‑build epoxy floor where silica or quartz sand is broadcast into the wet base coat and sealed with a topcoat. The sand becomes part of the coating, creating a textured, non‑slip surface.
Why choose a quartz broadcast system for industrial environments?
Quartz broadcast floors offer superior slip resistance, durability and chemical resistance. They also resist stains and are easy to clean.
How do I maintain an industrial epoxy floor?
Regular sweeping and mopping keep the floor clean. Because the surface is non‑porous, spills remain on top and can be wiped away. Periodic inspection and re‑top coating may be required to maintain slip resistance in high‑traffic areas.
Can silica/stout floors be customised?
Yes. Quartz comes in various colours and sizes, and we can adjust the broadcast density, grit size and topcoat sheen to achieve the desired look and performance.
Are silica/stout floors suitable for wet areas?
Absolutely. The textured surface provides traction even when wet, making these floors ideal for kitchens, restrooms, locker rooms and processing areas.
